Stack It // Abnormal Book

I was excited to start this stacking project and had an idea from the beginning. Instead of trying to shape each curve of my apple and pear I chose to stack, I decided to make a bunch of circles and then shape them as I glued them. I started with the apple and as the glue started to dry, I noticed that my stacked apple would almost grow. I then had to go back and peel off a few layers and somehow re-glue them back on. I'm glad I learned that in my first object because I knew for the next. My pear turned out a little better and I even tried to sand it down a little to make it more realistic. I just used sand paper and all it really did was flatten the edges of the paper together but it almost looked like skin on the pear.

After stacking our two fruits, we had the task of stacking whatever we wanted into some type of thing. It took me a while to decide what I wanted to do but I finally decided to stack pages of a book. I remembered when I was younger and it amused me that there could be holes in books where people could hide secret stuff so I decided I would recreate that but make it into some type of canyons or mountains. I found a great book at a thrift shop called The Psychology of Abnormal People. I thought it was perfect because only an abnormal person would make such a thing. After a while I got into a rhythm of cutting four or five pieces at a time and things went pretty smoothly. I even created a little middle mountain that fit right into the gap in the middle of the book. I might not of stacked something completely crazy but I was happy with my stacked canyons.
