I was going to create a bunch of half circles and glue the straight side of them to a center piece of cardboard that would be circular. Well the center piece would have to be pretty small and the cardboard was very hard to bend that tight. I ended up attempting to glue the flat edges to each other but started to run out of space. Then i got the idea to build little bridges in-between the half circles. These had two purposes. One, Keep the half circles evenly spaced, and two, fill in the gaps so the cardboard ball does not get stuck on them. Well what I forgot was to make the bridges line up with the outside edges of the circles. My ball rolled a little but did exactly what I did not want it to do, got stuck in the gaps.
It was very interesting to see everyone's ideas and if they worked or not. I think I just put too much thought into it and should of kept it simple, like the cardboard ball that won. I learned a lot about construction and space.
